Since the softener is to remove minerals from the water, would not removing them wreck your pipes? That is the first thing that I visualized when I was reading your article. I’m sure that no one wants to be drinking metallic sediments and things like that. It also makes sense that no one wants to have their pipes wrecked by such sediments.
