The First Day of Spring

The first day of spring came on Tuesday, March 1st. It didn’t seem like spring though, did it? The snow is not melting as fast as we’d like, it still gets cold at night, but at least the days are getting longer. We’re not out of the woods yet, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Startribune.com has some ideas about how our spring will shape up.

Even though there is snow on the ground, there are some things you should start to consider for spring like:

• Getting your air conditioner tuned up
• Checking your sump pump to make sure it’s working before you need it
• Calling your irrigation contractor to get your sprinkler system start up scheduled
• If you have a professional lawn care company handle your fertilization and weed control, give them a call to make sure you’re on their schedule
• Start thinking about where you’d like to put the new landscaping lights in the front and back yards
