In order to reduce algae buildup in lakes, rivers and streams, 17 states passed a mandate this year reducing the amount of phosphates in detergents. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall on Maytag dishwashers. The recall is due to an Dishwasher Recallelectrical failure in the dishwasher’s heating element which may cause fires. There have been no injuries or deaths reported with this voluntary recall.
